All my Adirondack Chairs are Hand built from Pressure Treated Timber, Designed to withstand
our typical British Weather.
The Timber I hand pick from local suppliers that are PEFC Certified, promoting
sustainable forest management.
I also recommend painting the chairs using Cuprinol Garden Shades range, adding
extra protection and stylish good looks to brighten up your Garden all year round.
Weather effect on Pressure treated timber
My furniture is made using quality pressure treated timber. Over time you may notice some small cracks appearing in the wood usually in line with the wood grain, Most notabley on the armrest and end grain. This is a natural characteristic of wood as it weathers and ages, but will not have any negative impact on the durability of your outdoor furniture. This effect can be minimised by regularly treating unpainted chairs with Oils or Wax and for my painted chairs re-coating with your colour choice of Cuprinol which will help to reduce excessive water ingress and also rapid drying in harsh winds and warmer periods during summer. All of which will help reduce the expanding and contracting of the wood and in turn reduce the amount and size of the cracks although some cracking can still happen.
*although I recommend Cuprinol Shades, I am more than happy to paint the chairs in any paint brand and colour of your choice!
I have always loved the classic looks of the American style Adirondack Chairs, therefore I decided to design and build my own version, also i added a matching Footstool and Table to the Chair. It is with great pride that i can now offer this unique range of furniture for sale, through my company The Gower Wood Company. My own particular design I have worked on until I got a style that is fantastically comfortable even without a cushion and is only available through ourselves and therefore every one of these chairs will have been hand built by myself in my workshop.
